Everyday Heroes

To our everyday heroes, brave and true, With every deed, the world’s renewed by you.

Your courage shines through night and day, Thank you for lighting hope along the way.

EVeryday true heroes

The poem "Everyday True Heroes", featured on the cover of "Shattered Streets, Silent Cries", was written as a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who form the backbone of our society. From police officers who patrol our streets, to teachers shaping the minds of the future, firefighters rushing into danger, and nurses and doctors who save lives daily, this piece honors them all. Care workers, social workers, and countless other key personnel who work quietly yet relentlessly were also included, their sacrifices and dedication woven into every verse. The poem is a beacon of gratitude, shining light on the everyday courage and compassion that often goes unnoticed.

SRB DE’POET, through this work, wanted to ensure that these individuals are not just remembered during times of crisis, such as a pandemic or a tragedy, but celebrated every single day. Their unwavering commitment and silent heroism are what sustain our communities, restore hope, and provide stability in moments of chaos. By placing this poem at the forefront of the book, he calls on society to shift its focus, to recognize and appreciate the real heroes who walk among us, not in capes, but in uniforms, scrubs, and work clothes.

For the author, this dedication was not just a poetic gesture, it was the most honorable act he could offer. It stands as a living testimony to their endurance, their heart, and their humanity. SRB DE’POET believes that gratitude should not be seasonal or circumstantial but constant. Through "Everyday True Heroes", he elevates the voices and spirits of those who keep the world turning even in its darkest hours, ensuring that their stories are never forgotten, and their sacrifices never ignored.

"Bob Marley: Voice of Freedom"

By: SRB De'POET

From the hills of Nine Mile to the world’s stage,

A lion of Zion with wisdom and rage,

Bob Marley, Jamaica’s cherished son,

A warrior of peace, a revolutionary one.

Through reggae rhythms and soulful cries,

He sang of freedom beneath African skies,

Challenging chains of apartheid’s might,

Calling for justice, for truth, for right.

"Get Up, Stand Up," his battle call,

For the oppressed, for one and for all,

"Redemption Song," a hymn of release,

A cry for unity, a plea for peace.

He saw Africa’s struggles as his own,

A seed of resistance deeply sown,

Informing the West with each melody,

Of Africa’s fight for equality.

No borders could bind his message wide,

His music still flows like the ocean's tide,

Echoing loudly through time’s embrace,

A prophet of love, of truth, of grace.

Bob Marley lives in every song,

A spirit unbroken, forever strong,

His legacy shines like the morning sun,

Africa's voice, Jamaica's son.
